The Anointing of
The Last Days
By
Prophet
T. E. Deckard
For a very long time,
the L-rd has been dealing with me about the anointing and how He is
going to move in these last days. I had felt that I needed to go back
and begin to re-examine the great outpouring of the Holy Ghost that took
place at the turn of our last century. I picked up a book that was
written on the Azusa Street experience and read of the supernatural
phenomenon that took place at that time.
It all seemed to have
started in 1906 as people that were serving the L-rd there on a street
called Azusa in Los Angeles gathered themselves together to worship the
L-rd. It was not only there in Los Angeles, but all over the world that
G-d was showing Himself as a mighty G-d that in no way could be
competed against.
The Spirit of the L-rd
would sweep into those meetings and absolutely take them over. People
would see cloven tongues of fire setting upon the heads of the people.
The blind would see, the lame walk, the deaf would hear; all manner of
disease was cured. People would come in from off the streets and fall
upon the altar and receive Christ as their Savior. Drunks were delivered
and demons came out of those that had them. The miraculous was happening
and no one there could deny that it was. The newspaper people came
and did articles on the meetings with pictures to prove the fact that
there was truly a visitation of G-d in their midst.
The meetings soon had
to be moved to a larger building to accommodate all the masses of
people. Night after night, these meetings took place and in each of the
services the L-rd swept in by His Spirit and caused miracles to take
place. The preacher might be preaching the Word and people would begin
to stand up and shout out the miracle they had received. Sometimes it
was during their time of worship and praise that the L-rd swept into the
meeting. Sometimes the meetings would last until 2 a.m., and yet the
people kept coming back night after night. There was no laying on of
hands. The L-rd was doing it all and everybody knew that He was. Only
G-d could and did receive the glory for all that was being done.
This great outpouring
lasted only for a few years and then it began to fade away. The
preachers began to argue scripture and take stands against one another
because of this. Was this arguing and division the reason that the
anointing began to fade away? There is no doubt in my mind that if it
was not, then it greatly contributed to the diminishing of this
miraculous outpouring. Over the next thirty years or so, there were
still those that the L-rd greatly anointed to carry His anointing. Then
there were those after that period that saw great healing revivals.
There are even today a few men and women around the earth that still
demonstrate the anointing of the great outpouring of 1900. These people
are only shadows of what is about to once again come to this earth.
I believe that the
ones during the 1900 outpouring that were used by G-d were the ones
that had been seeking Him in spirit and truth, those that had departed
from sin and sought after the L-rd with whole hearts. I believe that
this is what is going to once again happen. For those that will give
themselves wholly over to the L-rd and walk upright before Him, G-d is
about to pour out an anointing upon them that they will not be able to
believe. We are about to experience another Day of Pentecost.
II Corinthians
1:21-22 (KJV)
21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed
us, is God;
22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in
our hearts.
We that are His should
know that these scriptures are true for each of us. It is sad to know
that many do not know this as truth. The anointing comes from G-d and is
G-d, you and I can do nothing without the L-rd’s intervention. I have
always said that I cannot heal a sick cow, but through Christ, as Paul
pointed out, you and I can do all things.
I John 2:1-20 (KJV)
1 MY little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ
the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but
also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his
commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a
liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God
perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even
as he walked.
7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old
commandment which ye had from the beginning. The, old commandment is the
word which ye have heard from the begining.
8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in
him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother is in
darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none
occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in
darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath
blinded his eyes.
12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven
you for his names sake.
13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from
the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the
wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the
Father
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that
is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye
are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the
wicked one.
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If
any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust
of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the
world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that
doeth the will of God abideth for ever
18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that
antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we
know that it is the last time.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had
been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went
out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
I believe that within
these scriptures we can find most of the answers that we seek as to why
the anointing is not manifesting in our lives as we want it to. Love
seems to be a subject that we cannot avoid even in the times that we are
living in.
Preachers detesting
each other is not a new thing. I noticed in some of the accounts of the
great outpouring at the turn of our last century that the ministry began
to squabble over points of doctrine. This, I believe, was one of the
reasons why the anointing began to fade.
I Corinthians 2:1-5
(KJV)
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came
not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the
testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus
Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of mans
wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the
power of God.
Paul said that he knew
nothing except Christ and Him crucified. We as ministers need to
understand that this is what is important, not how we are baptized,
whether we speak in other tongues, and all the other doctrines that we
seemingly have indoctrinated the people with. Notice that Paul also said
that his preaching was in the demonstration of the Spirit and power of
G-d. I have always figured that since there is no power of anointing
working in the vast majority of ministry today, they covered up this
gross lack by using doctrine to be the importance of the Church. In
other words, we decided to dazzle the Church with our footwork rather
than produce the power of the anointing.
We as ministers taught
the people how to do all the Jewish dances, wave flags, and put on a
show that any good Christian would enjoy. The only thing that we forgot
was this is not the message that was delivered to the saints. We need to
return to a much more simpler form of the Gospel of Christ and His love
for all peoples. We need to do this by first learning to love each
other. There are always going to be differences in our beliefs, but this
should not cause us to abandon each other as brothers and sisters in
Christ.
The teachers to the
Body have done their job bringing the office of the teacher to the
forefront of the Church. In some cases, these teachers began to teach
from assumptions and not revelation from G-d. This has caused a lot of
the problems that we have been speaking of. We have truly entered into
dangerous times. I am sure that only G-d Himself knows how He is going
to bring forth this last and greatest move of the Holy Ghost that has
ever been here on the face of the earth.
We are quickly drawing
the curtain on the close of this century. Will this usher in another
unprecedented outpouring of the Holy Ghost? I will be very surprised, if
in fact that is not the case. I believe that in spite of all that we are
no doubt doing wrong, the L-rd is going to move in a mighty way
throughout the world. I would watch the third world countries for the
greatest of the outpouring. These are the places in which the reports
will be mind-boggling of the miracles that will be taking place.
Acts 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with
one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty
wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it
sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
As we can see, the Day
of Pentecost had to fully come. When this next Day of Pentecost comes,
it will also have to be in the fullness of G-d’s time. When that time
comes, the L-rd will once again send a mighty rushing wind from heaven.
This wind, which is the Holy Ghost, will fill up the houses where the
children of G-d are. The cloven tongues of fire will once again rest
upon the Church. People will once again be filled with a fresh anointing
of the Holy Ghost and speak with other tongues as the Spirit gives
utterance.
The experience that
came to Azusa Street and around the world will once again happen.
Miracles will become everyday events for the believers to perform in the
mighty name of Jesus. Some ministers that have sold out to the L-rd will
operate at a level within the Holy Ghost that will actually boggle the
carnal mind. All manner of miracles will persist throughout this time
that these men and women will perform in the mighty name of Jesus.
Even at this writing,
there are G-d-given intercessors that are laying upon their faces
travailing before the L-rd. These fervent prayers are even now beginning
to bring the birth pains for this great outpouring. Intercessors should
know that this is now taking place. I realize that it has not yet been
announced by our “national ministry,” but in time it will be. But, for
those that are now travailing before the L-rd, not knowing why, let them
rejoice that the L-rd has chosen them for this greatest of events. I
thank G-d for the G-d-called intercessors.
There is no doubt that
we will find ways to mess up the anointing that is about to inundate
this earth. We have always managed to make a mess out of everything that
G-d has ever done. Despite all this, G-d will still receive the glory,
and the Church along with the world will know that there is a real G-d
and that He is alive and doing well.
I believe that we as
the Church have a lot of preparing to do in the times that lie ahead. We
must bring the people into the place of holiness that the L-rd demands
of all His children. In order for this to happen, we must begin to love
each other and overlook each others faults. Without love, there can
never be a time of unity such as the early Church knew. We desperately
need to bring those together that will flow with one another. The
entirety of the Church will not participate in this unity, but the
remnant will and they will bring forth this last movement.
The beginning of this
love must start with the ministers loving each other. We must lay aside
our “all-knowing” doctrines that make us right and all others wrong.
Christ, Him crucified, and raised from the dead must be the ministry’s
cry in this hour. We must seek after the anointing and not after great
revelations so that people will follow after us instead of following
after the L-rd.
John 7:37-38 (KJV)
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his
belly shall flow rivers of living water
This river of living
water flowing out of our bodies is the anointing, the power of G-d. It
is not mere words being spoken out of one’s mouth nor actions being
performed. This is the flow of G-d’s Spirit rising out of us to touch
the needs, not only here, but of others around the world.
Only a remnant of the
Church will participate in this final and greatest move of G-d ever
known. Those that do participate will find themselves outcasts of the
“mainstream” church. This happened in the 1900 outpouring. The Church
looked down on those that attended the meetings, mocking them and not
letting them back into their churches.
Once again, our G-d is
about to bring the greatest visitation to this world that has ever been
seen. The cloven tongues of fire are about to once again sit upon the
heads of the people. We need to give ourselves wholly unto the things
of G-d and lay aside the things of sin that seem to so easily beset us.
AMEN!
