In Paul’s first letter to Timothy, chapter 4, verses 1 and 2, he is
speaking of things coming to the church in the latter day just prior
to the returning of Jesus.
I Timothy4:2
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a
hot iron;
We are seeing this happening right before our very eyes. People today
are for the most part, openly accepting abortion and homosexuality, as
though these abominations had always been acceptable. The church has
large numbers participating in this type of thinking.
Our nation was built, to the greater degree, of believing the Bible to
be the Holy Word of G-d. A standard we watched over and tried to teach
and live for many years. And now it seems that the truths we held so
dearly to as a nation are now gone forever.
We have twisted the basic truths of our laws until I am sure they
would look as day is to night to the ones who established them. You
may, as many are doing, ask yourself, how could this ever have
happened to this great nation?
It did not happen overnight, but through a long period of time. In I
Timothy 4:7 we are told: “But refuse profane and old wives fables, and
exercise thyself rather unto godliness.” In other words, if it
is not G-d’s Word do not accept it and do not twist G-d’s Word to
man’s standards.
This is what we have done. We have gotten away from godliness and have
looked more like the world looks instead of looking like the church
should look. The church is talking much about revival and that they
are going to see a sweeping revival of godliness across the land.
In Proverbs 23:23 we are told “Buy the truth, and sell it
not...”.
In John 8:32 we are told “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth
shall make you free.”
Truth of what, G-d’s Holy Word. Today’s world is calling us Bible
Thumpers and not in tune with the reality of living in a world that
calls for killing babies in their mother’s womb, homosexuality and a
number of other issues where we have departed from truth. When the
equal rights issue was brought forth, I believe that was the beginning
of taking G-d’s Word, man’s laws, and twisting them out of their
original context.
I believe the scripture in Isaiah 59:1-15 is speaking of the way
things will be in the last days.
Isaiah 59:1-15
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save;
neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and
your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with
iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered
perverseness.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust
in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth
iniquity.
5 They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that
eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out
into a viper.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover
themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and
the act of violence is in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent
blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and
destruction are in their paths.
8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their
goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein
shall not know peace.
9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake
us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we
walk in darkness.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had
no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate
places as dead men.
11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for
judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins
testify against us:
for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we
know them;
13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away
from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering
from the heart words of false hood.
14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar
off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh
himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there
was no judgment.
One can easily see the United States in these scriptures. The
fourteenth verse says truth has fallen in the streets and the
fifteenth verse says those of us who will not do evil will become prey
to those who do.
In Deuteronomy 32:28 it says “For they are a nation void of counsel,
neither is there any under standing in them.” This again fits us like
a glove.
In II Timothy 4:4 we are told: And they shall turn away their ears
from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
For the most part we as the church have lost sight of truth. I said
after the [Nov 1992]
election the church had voted. Truth for a fact is far from us
as a whole and that will prove damaging to us in time.
The church has given the new agers a green light to precede their
conquest into the local churches. Even at this writing there is a
ministerial alliance of a city about to let a new
ager in to speak to them.
Let those that have ears to hear, hear what the L-rd is saying to the
church in these dangerous times. We must stand with the truth of G-d’s
Word and not lean left or right. To be steadfast is the key, but
remember you are what is in your heart. For out of the abundance of
the heart the mouth can and does speak. Study the Word and know truth,
not man’s opinion, but G-d’s Word, and watch Him extend His hand to
protect you and yours, to deliver you out of harms way. Amen.
We are at the door of great change, in the United States, the world,
and the church. Our belief in Jesus and His doctrine is about to be
put to a test. The sad part of it is that much of the church will
never know it because the truth has been far from them for so long
that they know it not.
